Top Chiefs News

  • Chiefs' Noah Gray: Two more scores

Gray recorded four catches on four targets for 66 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers.

Gray scored twice for the second consecutive week, this time coming on receptions of 35 and 11 yards. He's now earned at least four targets in consecutive games and seems to be prioritized ahead of peripheral pass catchers in the Chiefs' offense such as JuJu Smith-Schuster and Justin Watson. That could give Gray some streaming appeal going forward, though his overall lack of volume still makes him unreliable on a weekly basis.

  • Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Tallies 51 yards from scrimmage

Worthy recorded four receptions on six targets for 46 yards in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers. He added one rush for five yards.

Worthy finished second on the team with six targets, his highest mark since Week 8. However, he continued to struggle to connect with Patrick Mahomes on deep targets, as three of his four catches went for 12 yards or fewer. Given his limited volume and lack of explosiveness, Worthy is difficult to trust despite topping 50 yards from scrimmage in consecutive games for the first time this season.

  • Chiefs' DeAndre Hopkins: Catches short touchdown

Hopkins recorded five receptions on six targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers.

Hopkins was fairly involved in the Kansas City offense, as he tied for second on the team in targets. He had a modest day from a yardage perspective, as he was used primarily in the short areas of the field to limit his longest gain to 12 yards. However, Hopkins did manage his third touchdown as a Chief late in the third quarter by cashing in from three yards away. While he should remain a key target down the stretch, Hopkins has lacked explosiveness by tallying more than 50 receiving yards in just two of five games since joining Kansas City.

  • Chiefs' Kareem Hunt: Tallies 87 total yards

Hunt rushed the ball 16 times for 68 yards in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers. He added three receptions on four targets for 19 yards.

The Chiefs were surprisingly in a tightly contested game, which forced them to rely on Patrick Mahomes more than anticipated while also limiting Hunt's opportunity. Hunt did show some moderate playmaking ability with long gains of 13 as both a rusher and receiver, allowing him to top 85 yards from scrimmage for the third time in his last four games. While he's been a reliable fantasy option, his opportunity could diminish in Week 13 against the Raiders if Isiah Pacheco (ankle) is activated from injured reserve.

  • Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Overshadowed in solid performance

Kelce recorded six receptions on eight targets for 62 yards in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers.

Kelce led the team with eight targets and surpassed 50 receiving yards for the fourth time in six games since the Chiefs' Week 6 bye. His performance was highlighted by long gains of 27 and 19 yards, both of which went on to set up field goals. Despite the solid performance, Kelce was overshadowed by Noah Gray, who caught a pair of touchdowns.

  • Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes: Second-half surge continues

Mahomes completed 27 of 37 passes for 269 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Panthers. He added five rushes for 60 yards.

Mahomes had an exceptional first half, during which he completed 19 of 24 passes for two touchdowns -- both of which went to Noah Gray -- and 207 yards. The Chiefs only ran 28 plays in the second half, which slowed his line a bit. However, Mahomes still delivered when needed by scrambling for a 33-yard gain with only 38 seconds remaining to set up the game-winning field goal. He now has three touchdowns in three of his last four games while reaching 300 total yards on two occasions in that span.

  • Chiefs' Peyton Hendershot: Exits game with calf injury

Hendershot (calf) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Panthers.

Hendershot suffered the injury in the second half of Sunday's game. Travis Kelce and Noah Gray would be the Chiefs' only two tight ends for the rest of the contest if Hendershot is unable to return.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Inactive Sunday

Edwards-Helaire is inactive for Sunday's game against the Panthers.

With Edwards-Helaire inactive and Isiah Pacheco (ankle) still on IR, Kareem Hunt, Samaje Perine and Carson Steele will handle the Chiefs' Week 12 backfield duties.
