Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: Avoids serious injury
Kaprizov (lower body) didn't sustain a serious injury in Thursday's win over Edmonton, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic on Sunday.
Kaprizov had an MRI on Sunday, and the results were encouraging, but it's still unclear when he will be available to play. The Wild will monitor him on a day-by-day basis. Kaprizov didn't play in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary, and it's doubtful that he will return to action in Monday's game versus Winnipeg. An official update on his timeline should come from the team soon. Kaprizov has amassed 13 goals, 34 points and 59 shots on net in 19 appearances this season.

Wild's Joel Eriksson Ek: Gathers assist Saturday
Eriksson Ek registered an assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Flames.
Eriksson Ek set up Marco Rossi's game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation. This was Eriksson Ek's first point in three games since he returned from missing one contest due to a lower-body injury. The 27-year-old is a top-six and power-play fixture for the Wild and is up to five goals, four assists, 41 shots on net, 26 hits and a plus-7 rating over 17 appearances this season.

Wild's Marcus Johansson: Steps up in shootout loss
Johansson scored a goal on a game-high eight shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Flames.
Johansson has scored in back-to-back games, but no one saw an eight-shot game coming from the 34-year-old. He's picked up four points over his last five contests, and his contributions will be a big help as the Wild try to navigate the absence of Kirill Kaprizov (lower body). Johansson has produced seven points, 36 shots on net, 16 hits and a plus-1 rating over 19 appearances, but a larger role may be just what he needs to be more productive on offense.

Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: MRI booked for Sunday
Kaprizov (lower body) will undergo an MRI on Sunday, reports Elliotte Freideman of Sportsnet.
He was hit by Drake Caggiula when he cut back toward the middle of center ice in Thursday's game. Kaprizov missed Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary following the awkward collision. A timeline for his return should come before Monday's matchup against Winnipeg. Kaprizov ranks second in the NHL with 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists) through 19 appearances this season.

Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Beaten in shootout
Gustavsson made 28 saves Saturday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary.
The shootout went five rounds before Rasmus Andersson potted a five-hole goal on Gustavsson to win the game. The talented netminder has bounced back after a queasy 2023-24, compiling a 9-3-3 record with a 2.13 GAA and a .924 save percentage this season. He is delivering elite-level netminding for fantasy managers.

Wild's Brock Faber: First power-play goal of season
Faber scored a power-play goal Saturday in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Flames.
Faber got his first power-play tally of 2024-25 after wiring a point shot through a sea of bodies to beat Dan Vladar late in the third period. His third goal of the year gave Minnesota a 3-2 lead. He has 11 points and 26 shots through 20 games, proving his brilliant rookie showing in 2023-24 wasn't an anomaly. Faber is displaying the consistency that fantasy managers covet.

Wild's Matt Boldy: Six-game, seven-point streak
Boldy delivered two assists, including one on the power play, in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Flames on Saturday.
Boldy has three goals, four helpers and 22 shots during his six-game point streak. After two seasons of 60-plus points, Boldy is taking another step forward in 2024-25 with 22 points (11 goals, 11 assists) and 72 shots through 20 outings. His star is on the rise.

Wild's Marco Rossi: Game taking another step forward
Rossi scored a goal and added an assist in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary.
Rossi was Mr. Clutch, scoring a five-hole goal with 34 seconds left in the third period to force overtime. He's taken the next step this season after putting up 40 points in 82 regular-season games in 2023-24. So far, Rossi has 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) and 37 shots in 20 appearances this campaign, and he's starting to contribute on the power play. His assist came with the man advantage, where he has three points in his last seven outings. He won't deliver many hits or blocks, and he's still working at improving on faceoffs, but Rossi might be on the verge of fulfilling his draft-day promise as a top-10 pick.

Wild's Marat Khusnutdinov: Out due to lower-body injury
Khusnutdinov is a late scratch Saturday against Calgary because of a lower-body injury.
Khusnutdinov has two assists, 18 hits and 15 blocks in 19 appearances in 2024-25. Minnesota will also be without the services of Kirill Kaprizov (lower body) following an injury he suffered against Edmonton on Thursday. Due to the absences of Khusnutdinov and Kaprizov, Travis Boyd will make his Wild debut, and Ben Jones will also draw into the lineup.

Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Starting in Calgary
Gustavsson will guard the road goal Saturday versus the Flames, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Gustavsson is coming off a 22-save effort in Tuesday's 4-2 win over St. Louis. He has a 9-3-2 record with one shutout, a 2.07 GAA and a .926 save percentage through 14 appearances this season. Calgary sits 22nd in the league with 2.60 goals per game in 2024-25.

Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: Not playing Saturday
Kaprizov (lower body) won't play Saturday against Calgary.
Kaprizov sustained the injury in Thursday's 5-3 win over Edmonton. He returned to the game but will miss at least one outing. Kaprizov has amassed 13 goals, 34 points and 59 shots on net through 19 appearances this season. With Kaprizov and Marat Khusnutdinov (lower body) unavailable, Ben Jones and Travis Boyd will play versus the Flames.

Wild's Travis Boyd: Up from AHL
The Wild recalled Boyd from AHL Iowa under emergency conditions Friday.
Boyd has two goals and 11 points in 13 appearances with Iowa in 2024-25. He hasn't played for Minnesota yet, but the 31-year-old does have 47 goals and 118 points across 296 career NHL regular-season outings. Since he's with the team under emergency conditions, he won't be able to play unless a questionable forward is unable to suit up. If he draws into the lineup Saturday versus Calgary, it will likely be as a part of the bottom six.

Wild's Declan Chisholm: Collects helper Thursday
Chisholm posted an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Oilers.
Chisholm has a helper in four of his last six contests, but he hasn't been able to maintain a full-time role. He's competed with Jon Merrill for a spot on the third pairing, and Chisholm is also in the power-play mix when he plays. For the season, Chisholm has five assists, 12 shots on net, eight blocked shots and five hits over 14 appearances.

Wild's Jacob Middleton: Assists in consecutive games
Middleton logged an assist, four shots on goal, two hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Oilers.
The four shots on goal led all Wild players. Middleton has a helper in each of the last two games and continues to offer well-rounded non-scoring production while seeing top-four minutes. For the season, the 28-year-old blueliner has 11 points, 31 shots on net, 47 blocked shots, 26 hits, 11 PIM and a plus-17 rating through 19 appearances.

Wild's Jonas Brodin: Pockets helper in win
Brodin logged an assist and five blocked shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Oilers.
Brodin has a goal and an assist over two games since he returned from an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old defenseman is up to eight points, 31 shots on net, 40 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 17 appearances this season. While he plays more of a shutdown role for the Wild, he's topped 20 points in four of the previous five campaigns, a level of offense that is sufficient to help fantasy managers in deeper formats.

Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: Shakes off injury concern
Kaprizov briefly left Thursday's 5-3 win over the Oilers, but indicated that he should be fine if not quite 100 percent in a postgame interview, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.
Kaprizov took a knee-on-knee hit from Drake Caggiula in the second period, but the Wild winger was back on the ice before the end of the frame. He logged an assist on a Matt Boldy goal in the first period. Since Kaprizov finished the contest, there doesn't seem to be any reason for concern at this point, but he may skip a practice or two in the coming days if he feels sore. The 27-year-old has been electric to begin 2024-25 with 13 goals and 21 assists while adding 59 shots on net and a plus-16 rating across 19 contests. He's accumulated six goals and seven assists during his active seven-game point streak.

Wild's Ryan Hartman: Dishes two assists in win
Hartman logged two assists, three shots on goal and two PIM in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Oilers.
Hartman has three points over his last two games. The 30-year-old was up on the second line again Thursday, though one of his assists came on a goal by former linemate Frederick Gaudreau late in the second period. Hartman is up to four goals, three helpers, 34 shots on net, 18 hits, six PIM and an even plus-minus rating over 14 appearances. His mix of offense and physical play makes him an interesting option in fantasy if he can keep his scoring trending in the right direction.
