Hurricanes' Ty Smith: Loaned to AHL team

Hurricanes' Yaniv Perets: Summoned from AHL
Perets was recalled from AHL Chicago on Sunday.
Perets has a 1-2-0 record with a 3.67 GAA and an .825 save percentage in three AHL appearances. He could occupy the backup role behind Spencer Martin on Monday against Dallas because of injuries to Pyotr Kochetkov (upper body) and Frederik Andersen (knee).

Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Removed from IR
Jarvis (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday.
Jarvis will be available to return from a seven-game absence versus Dallas on Monday. He has accounted for four goals, 11 points, 35 shots on net, 11 blocked shots and 16 hits through 13 appearances this season. Jarvis could replace Tyson Jost against the Stars.

Hurricanes' Dmitry Orlov: Picks up assist Saturday
Orlov notched an assist in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Orlov's assist streak is up to four games, matching his longest point streak of the campaign. The 33-year-old defenseman set up a Jalen Chatfield tally in the second period. Orlov is enjoying a bit of a bounce-back season with 12 points, a plus-19 rating, 33 shots on net, 23 hits and 16 blocked shots through 20 appearances. That's nearly halfway to the 26-point effort he put forth over all 82 regular-season contests in 2023-24.

Hurricanes' Jesperi Kotkaniemi: Generates helper in shootout loss
Kotkaniemi provided an assist in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Kotkaniemi set up a Jackson Blake goal in the second period, which came after the former was moved to the fourth line. Kotkaniemi saw a season-low 9:36 of ice time, and it's unclear if his demotion was a one-game thing or something to be watched moving forward. Jack Drury moved up to the second line in the swap. Kotkaniemi has been inconsistent in November with a goal and four assists over 11 appearances, and he's at 12 points, 41 shots on net, 16 PIM and a plus-9 rating through 20 outings overall.

Hurricanes' Martin Necas: Dishes pair of helpers
Necas recorded two assists, including one on the power play, and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
Necas has been held without a goal for three straight games, but he has three helpers in that span. That's his longest goal drought of the campaign, which illustrates just how excellent he's been so far in 2024-25. The 25-year-old is up to 33 points (11 goals, 22 helpers), with 14 of them coming on the power play through 20 appearances. Necas has added 48 shots on net, 13 hits and a plus-8 rating while seeing time on the second line and first power-play unit.

Hurricanes' Jalen Chatfield: Finds twine Saturday
Chatfield scored a goal and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Chatfield has three points and a plus-7 rating over his last four contests. The 28-year-old defenseman remains in a bottom-four role with next-to-nothing for power-play time, but he's finding ways to chip in some depth offense. For the season, he's at two goals, seven points, 26 shots on net, 22 blocked shots, 13 hits, 10 PIM and a plus-16 rating over 20 appearances. That scoring pace would be enough to surpass his career high of 22 points from 72 regular-season outings in 2023-24.

Hurricanes' Jackson Blake: Scores in shootout loss
Blake scored a goal on four shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Blake's goal in the second period put the Hurricanes up 4-3, but they squandered the lead late in the third. This was his second goal in the last five games. The 21-year-old rookie is up to six goals, two assists, 38 shots on net, 12 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 20 appearances. While's he impressed to begin his first full campaign, his chances are limited by a fourth-line role, so his utility in fantasy is limited to deep formats and dynasty leagues at this time.

Hurricanes' Jack Roslovic: Goals in three straight games
Roslovic scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Roslovic extended his goal streak to three games with a tally against one of his former teams, which tied the game at 1-1. The 27-year-old winger has been streaky on offense this season and hasn't done much playmaking, racking up 12 goals and one assist through 20 contests. He's added 52 shots on net and a plus-6 rating, and he'll carry some fantasy value as long as he plays on the top line.

Hurricanes' Sebastian Aho: Another two-point effort
Aho scored a power-play goal on four shots, dished an assist and added four PIM in Saturday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Blue Jackets.
Aho has multiple points in two of the last three games. He's earned six points (three on the power play) over his last six contests, though he's had just two point streaks of three or more games this season. Overall, the talented center has six goals, 13 helpers, seven power-play points, 54 shots on net, 16 hits, 16 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 20 appearances in his familiar first-line role.

Hurricanes' Spencer Martin: Takes shootout loss in short outing
Martin stopped one shot in overtime and two of three shootout attempts, taking the loss in a 5-4 shootout defeat to the Blue Jackets after entering the game for Pyotr Kochetkov (upper body).
Martin's outing was a short one, and Sean Monahan had the lone shootout tally to decide the game. Depending on the severity of Kochetkov's injury, Martin may be set for No. 1 duties in goal moving forward -- there was no update after the game. Martin is 1-2-1 with 10 goals allowed on 77 shots through five appearances this season, with his lone win being a shutout. The Hurricanes' next game is a tough one at home versus the Stars on Monday.

Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Injured in overtime
Kochetkov (upper body) sustained an injury during overtime versus the Blue Jackets on Saturday, and there was no update on his status after the contest, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Kochetkov looked to take a blow to the head, per Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports. Prior to the injury, Kochetkov allowed four goals on 31 shots. With the Hurricanes already missing Frederik Andersen (knee) into late January in a best-case scenario, this could develop into a crease crisis for the team. Spencer Martin is likely to take over as the starter during Kochetkov's absence, and Yaniv Perets would be in line for a call-up, but it wouldn't be surprising for Carolina to attempt to make a trade if there's bad news about Kochetkov's recovery timeline.

Hurricanes' Pyotr Kochetkov: Set to start Saturday
Kochetkov was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers reports, indicating he will guard the road goal Saturday versus Columbus.
Kochetkov has won his last two starts, stopping 47 of 49 shots. He has a 10-2-0 record with a 2.30 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 12 appearances this campaign. Columbus ranks 10th in the league with 3.42 goals per game in 2024-25.

Hurricanes' Shayne Gostisbehere: Reaches 10-assist mark
Gostisbehere logged a power-play assist and two PIM in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Devils.
Gostisbehere has surged to the 10-assist mark this season, collecting five helpers over his last five games. All of those have been on the power play. He has a total of 14 points (10 with the man advantage), 36 shots on net, 22 hits and a plus-1 rating through 19 appearances. The 31-year-old has been a perfect fit on the top power-play unit, helping the Hurricanes to a 24.2 percent success rate, good for seventh in the league through Thursday's action.

Hurricanes' Martin Necas: Bounces back after streak ends
Necas logged a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Devils.
Necas' 13-game, 27-point streak ended in a 4-1 win over the Flyers on Wednesday. The 25-year-old wasn't discouraged, chipping in the primary helper on Andrei Svechnikov's goal in the third period. Necas has been held off the scoresheet just three times this season, earning 11 goals, 20 helpers, 13 power-play points, 48 shots on net and a plus-9 rating over 19 appearances. His power-play production is already equal to last year, and he's well over halfway to surpassing his 53-point total from 77 regular-season games in 2023-24. Necas ranks third in the NHL in points, trailing just Kirill Kaprizov and Nathan MacKinnon, who both have 34.

Hurricanes' Jack Roslovic: Nets 11th goal of season
Roslovic scored a goal in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Devils.
Roslovic has struggled with consistency on a game-to-game basis. Even though he's up to 11 goals on the season, he's also failed to find the scoresheet in 10 of his 19 contests. Roslovic has scored in back-to-back games four times this season already, and he'll aim to extend that streak to a season-high three games when the Hurricanes take on the Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Hurricanes' Andrei Svechnikov: Scores PP goal Thursday
Svechnikov scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Devils.
The 24-year-old forward found twine just 12 seconds into the third period and evened the game at 2-2 after set-ups from Martin Necas and Shayne Gostisbehere. However, the Hurricanes couldn't complete the comeback after allowing two more goals in the final 10 minutes of the game. Svechnikov has seven goals this season and five of those have come on the power play, including the last two in his prior three appearances.
