Hughes posted a power-play assist and two shots on goal in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.
Hughes has two assists over his last four contests. The 21-year-old defenseman continues to be eclipsed by Dougie Hamilton, both at even strength and on the power play. Hughes has just three assists (two on the power play) with 17 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 14 appearances this season. Hughes has talent, but until he can carve out a larger role -- he's averaging just 18:53 of ice time per game -- his fantasy upside is capped.

Devils' Erik Haula: Helps out on power play
Haula notched a power-play assist in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.
The assist ended a six-game point drought for Haula. The 33-year-old remains in a third-line role, but that's a spot in the lineup that may not always allow for consistency on offense. Haula's up to 10 points, 33 shots on net, 37 hits, 17 blocked shots, 15 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 23 appearances.

Devils' Nico Hischier: Registers power-play assist in win
Hischier notched an assist and two PIM in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.
Hischier helped out on a Dougie Hamilton goal in the second period, which ended up being the game-winner. While he's picked up six assists over 10 contests in November, Hischier has come up empty on 15 shots on goal in that span. The scoring slump won't affect his role -- he's a two-way beast and isn't hurting for offense. Overall, the Swiss center has 10 goals, 11 helpers, 59 shots on net, 19 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating, and he's still shooting 16.9 percent through 23 outings overall.

Devils' Brenden Dillon: Finds back of net in win
Dillon scored his first goal of the campaign Saturday in a 3-2 win over the Capitals.
Dillon floated a wrist shot through traffic to put the Devils up 2-1 at 7:08 of the second period. The 34-year-old compiled two shots, one block, four hits and a plus-1 rating in 14:16 of ice time to round out a useful fantasy performance. This type of outing is rare for the stay-at-home defenseman, as his marker Saturday was his first point in November. The British Columbia native has logged one goal, four assists and a plus-6 rating through 23 contests this season. He has served as a key penalty killer for the Devils while logging 2:14 of shorthanded ice time per game.

Devils' Dougie Hamilton: Lights lamp in road victory
Hamilton scored his third goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 win over Washington.
Hamilton deposited his second power-play marker of the campaign in the second period, which stood as the game-winner. The right-shot blueliner has scored in back-to-back games. Hamilton has been held off the scoresheet on only three occasions through 10 appearances in November. The Ontario native leads New Jersey's defensemen in points and ranks third on the team in helpers. Tatar scored his first power-play goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1 in the opening frame, and he registered the primary helper on Brenden Dillon's first goal of 2024-25 in the second frame. Tatar added two shots, one block, and a plus-1 rating in a team-low 9:30 of ice time. The 33-year-old has points in back-to-back games, but his fourth-line role will limit his path to consistent offensive production. Devils' Jake Allen: Solid in road victory
Allen allowed two goals on 25 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Capitals.
Allen allowed one goal at even strength and one on the power play, but he was able to shut the door on the Caps to pick up his third win in his last four starts. The veteran netminder hasn't conceded more than two goals in any of those four appearances, all of which have come in November. Allen allowed 12 goals across his last two outings of October, so he appears to have turned a corner in his first full season as a Devil. The 34-year-old is up to a 5-2-1 record, .921 save percentage and 2.26 GAA through eight appearances.

Devils' Jake Allen: Starting against Capitals
Allen will protect the road goal versus the Capitals on Saturday, Catherine Bogart of the Devils' official site reports.
Allen has allowed just three goals on 85 shots over his last three outings, winning two of those games. The Capitals have averaged 4.16 goals per game this season, but they are far less intimidating without Alex Ovechkin (lower leg) in the lineup.

Palat's helper was his first since Oct. 27, though he had three goals over nine contests in between assists. The 33-year-old winger remains in a middle-six role, one that's led to somewhat limited contributions. He's at six points, 28 shots on net, 35 hits and a minus-4 rating through 21 appearances. Palat is out of the mix for power-play time, so his path to producing steady offense is a tough one.

Mercer continues to quietly make an impact in a supporting role, picking up four points over his last six games. His helper Thursday set up Dougie Hamilton's game-winning goal halfway through the third period. Mercer has five goals, seven assists, 37 shots on net, 19 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 22 appearances in a middle-six role this season.

Hamilton scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM, logged three hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Hamilton's goal was the game-winner, and it was likely a little sweeter for him coming against one of his former teams. He tallied at 10:35 of the third period. The defenseman has nine points in as many games in November and is up to two goals, 16 points, 70 shots on net, 30 blocked shots, 24 hits and 12 PIM through 22 appearances this season, matching his output from 20 outings in an injury-shortened 2023-24 campaign. While matching his 74-point season from 2022-23 might be difficult, it's very reasonable to think Hamilton could reach the 50-point mark for the third time in his career.

Devils' Stefan Noesen: Two points vs. Carolina
Noesen registered a power-play goal and a power-play assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Noesen was stellar with the man advantage, finding the back of the net just 46 seconds into the second period with a tip-in and later setting up Jesper Bratt's second goal with 5:55 left in the contest. Noesen has two multi-point games in his last three outings, and he's up to six points (five goals, one assist) in nine contests since the beginning of November.

Hughes recorded three assists, including two on the power play, in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Hughes was an unstoppable playmaking threat for New Jersey in this win, and he was involved directly in three of the team's four goals. The 23-year-old star center assisted on both of Jesper Bratt's goals, in the first and third periods, and also set up Stefan Noesen's power-play tally in the second frame. Hughes has racked up four goals and nine assists in nine appearances this month, and six of those 13 points have come with the man advantage.

Bratt recorded two goals, one on the power play and one on even strength, and a power-play assist in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.
Bratt has been on a tear of late, and his numbers rank him as one of the most productive players in the league over the last few weeks. He's notched five multi-point games since the beginning of November, racking up eight goals and six assists across nine games in that stretch. Five of those points -- three goals and two helpers -- have come in the power play.
