  • Sabres' Bowen Byram: Produces two helpers

Byram notched two assists, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Byram had been held off the scoresheet over his previous three contests. He snapped the slump by setting up Peyton Krebs in the first period and also had a secondary helper on Dylan Cozens' tally in the third frame. Byram is up to four multi-point efforts through 21 outings, earning three goals, 10 assists, 22 shots on net, 20 hits, 19 blocked shots and a plus-9 rating in a top-four role. His career high in points is 29 over 73 contests in 2023-24, but he's on pace to shatter that mark if he stays healthy this year.

  • Sabres' Peyton Krebs: Lights lamp Saturday

Krebs scored a goal on two shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Krebs snapped a three-game slump with the first-period tally. The 23-year-old continues to play in a fourth-line role, though he was able to avoid getting lost in the shuffle when head coach Lindy Ruff shortened the bench in the third period. Krebs is up to three goals, four assists, 15 shots on net, 15 PIM, 29 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 20 appearances. He's not really a standout in any one area, so he has limited usefulness in fantasy.

  • Sabres' Dylan Cozens: Tallies in win

Cozens scored a goal on eight shots and added three hits in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Cozens had one of his best games of the year, ending a four-game point drought. The 23-year-old center tied the game at 2-2 in the third period, laying the foundation for the Sabres' rally to their third straight win. He's up to four goals, eight points, 61 shots on net, 46 hits, 14 blocked shots, 16 PIM and a minus-5 rating through 21 appearances. Cozens is shooting just 6.6 percent this year while increasing his shot volume from 2023-24, but that should improve.

  • Sabres' Alex Tuch: Intercepts pass for shortie

Tuch scored a shorthanded goal on two shots, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Tuch picked off a pass and was off to the races, scoring at 5:27 of the third period. His goal stood as the game-winner. The 28-year-old winger has three goals and six assists during his six-game point streak. For the season, he's up to seven tallies (three shorthanded), 21 points, 49 shots on net, 30 blocked shots, 19 hits and a plus-11 rating over 21 appearances. Tuch's offense is rarely in question, but his all-around game has taken a step forward in 2024-25 -- perhaps with shades of former Vegas teammate Mark Stone in terms of defensive effort.

  • Sabres' Rasmus Dahlin: Fills stat sheet Saturday

Dahlin scored an empty-net goal on five shots, dished an assist, went plus-3, blocked three shots, logged two hits and added two PIM in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Dahlin contributed in virtually every fantasy category a defenseman can, except for special-teams production. He rebounded nicely after his seven-game point streak ended Friday in a 3-2 win over the Ducks. Dahlin has been among the best blueliners in the NHL for fantasy purposes, racking up six goals, 13 assists, eight power-play points, 64 shots on net, 32 blocked shots, 22 hits, 18 PIM and a plus-5 rating through 21 appearances.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Sharp in win over former team

Reimer stopped 31 of 33 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Sharks.

Reimer has had two stints with the Sharks, mostly recently in 2022-23. The 36-year-old made his Buffalo debut after signing with the Sabres in the offseason. He was lost on waivers to the Ducks before ultimately being reclaimed. The netminder is 1-2-0 with 11 goals allowed on 99 shots over three appearances this season. He should improve behind a Sabres team that has established itself as a playoff contender through the first quarter of 2024-25. Reimer's playing time is likely to be limited behind Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen. Still, Reimer should have an opportunity to start next weekend with the Sabres playing at home versus the Canucks on Friday before facing the Islanders on the road Saturday.

  • Sabres' James Reimer: Starting Saturday

Reimer will guard the road goal versus San Jose on Saturday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.

Reimer allowed nine goals on 66 shots in two outings with Anaheim this season. After being claimed off waivers from the Ducks on Nov. 13, he will get the second half of Buffalo's back-to-back following Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen's 22-save effort in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over Anaheim. San Jose ranks 27th in the league with 2.45 goals per game in 2024-25.

  • Sabres' Owen Power: Two assists in overtime win

Power provided a pair of assists, three shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks.

Power did a good job of driving play when on the ice Friday. He has six helpers over his last six games, though he's also posted a minus-1 rating in that span as the defensive side of his game could still use some work. The 22-year-old blueliner is up to 15 points, 33 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 20 appearances, putting him on track to shatter his career high of 35 points from his rookie year in 2022-23.

  • Sabres' Jiri Kulich: Wins it in overtime

Kulich scored a goal on four shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks.

Kulich scored at 4:00 of overtime, following up a rebound to complete the Sabres' comeback from a 2-0 deficit. This was his first point in three appearances since he returned from AHL Rochester. Kulich has seen third-line usage for the most part, though as a young player, his ice time may fluctuate with his performance. He has two goals, 25 shots on net, 10 hits and a plus-1 rating over 11 NHL appearances in 2024-25 while averaging 14:07 per game.

  • Sabres' Jason Zucker: Nets game-tying goal

Zucker scored a goal on four shots and added two PIM in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks.

Zucker has goals in consecutive games and has gotten on the scoresheet in three straight outings follow a dry spell of equal length from Nov. 9-14. His tally late in the second period tied this contest at 2-2, and the Sabres went on to win in overtime on a Jiri Kulich goal. Zucker is up to five goals, 14 points, 30 shots on net, 27 PIM and a plus-3 rating over 20 appearances. He had 32 points in 69 regular-season outings between the Coyotes and the Predators in 2023-24, so he's well on his way to a bounce-back campaign.

  • Sabres' Alex Tuch: One of each Friday

Tuch scored a goal, added an assist and logged two hits in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks.

Tuch was credited with the Sabres' first goal, which was officially judged an own goal by the Ducks. He also earned a helper on Jiri Kulich's tally in overtime. This was Tuch's third multi-point effort during his five-game point streak, a span in which he has two goals and six assists. For the season, the winger is at 20 points (six goals, 14 helpers), 47 shots on net, 28 blocked shots, 18 hits, 13 PIM and a plus-9 rating through 20 appearances.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Secures overtime win

Luukkonen stopped 22 of 24 shots in Friday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks.

Luukkonen has won his last five decisions over six games, the exception being when he was pulled from a 7-5 loss to the Canadiens on Nov. 11. The 25-year-old struggled a bit early Friday, allowing a goal in each of the first two periods before the Sabres turned things around. He's now 8-4-1 with a 2.55 GAA and a .910 save percentage over 14 appearances. James Reimer is likely to get the nod in goal versus one of his former teams, the Sharks, for Saturday's game.

  • Sabres' Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen: Will start Friday

Luukkonen will protect the road goal in Friday's game versus the Ducks.

Luukkonen will make his second start in a row after missing two games due to an undisclosed injury. He'll play the first half of a back-to-back, which likely means James Reimer will be in goal for Saturday's game in San Jose. Luukkonen is 7-4-1 with a 2.61 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 13 games, and the Ducks have averaged just 2.56 goals per game this season.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Expected to miss out Friday

Thompson (lower body) is not expected back in the lineup versus the Ducks on Friday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.

Thompson didn't participate in line rushes during the game-day skate, effectively ruling out his return to action Friday. With a back-to-back on the schedule, the 27-year-old center figures to be a long shot to get onto the ice for Saturday's clash with San Jose -- though he hasn't been officially ruled out.

  • Sabres' Jordan Greenway: Lands on injured reserve

Greenway (undisclosed) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, per the NHL media site.

Greenway has been dealing with an undisclosed injury for nearly a week, and the Sabres indicated Monday that the 27-year-old is considered week-to-week. It isn't very surprising to see him land on injured reserve, but it isn't yet clear when he'll be in the mix to return to game action. Over 16 appearances this year, Greenway has logged three goals, six points, 40 hits and 16 blocked shots while averaging 16:17 of ice time.

  • Sabres' Henri Jokiharju: Checks back in after scratches

Jokiharju logged 18:42 of ice time, earning two blocked shots, two shots on goal and two PIM in Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Kings.

Jokiharju was a fixture in the lineup for the first month of the Sabres' season, but he sat out six straight games from Nov. 5-16. The 25-year-old was back in the lineup Wednesday since Mattias Samuelsson (lower body) is on injured reserve and Dennis Gilbert was rotated out of the lineup after failing to impress while playing five of the six contests Jokiharju was scratched for. The uncertainty in Jokiharju's playing time takes away most of the already-minimal fantasy value he had heading into the season. The defenseman has three points, 19 shots on net, 15 blocked shots, 12 hits and a plus-6 rating through 13 appearances.
