  • Lightning's Emil Lilleberg: Manages assist in loss

Lilleberg posted an assist in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Stars.

Lilleberg has seen a limited role on the third pairing this season, and it's reduced further when the Lightning dress seven blueliners as they did Saturday. Despite his minimal playing time -- he's averaging 13:32 per game -- he's picked up six helpers over 16 contests, including four assists in his last six games. Lilleberg also has 26 hits, 13 blocked shots, 19 PIM and a minus-2 rating this season.

  • Lightning's Brandon Hagel: Tied for second in team scoring

Hagel set up both Lightning goals in a 4-2 loss to the Stars on Saturday.

Hagel and Anthony Cirelli, who got both snipes, have real chemistry. The 26-year-old Hagel has nine goals, 12 assists and 50 shots in 19 games this season, and both men are tied for second in team scoring with 22 points. Hagel's next goal will be his 100th in the NHL.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Tough third period leads to loss

Vasilevskiy made 24 saves in a 4-2 loss to the Stars on Saturday.

The game was knotted 2-2 until the 6:55 mark of the third, but the Stars got two in 58 seconds on two separate rushes, and they never looked back. Vasilevskiy came into the match on a three-game winning streak, but even the best can't win them all. The Bolts have four games next week with three against strong teams (Avs, Caps, Preds and Leafs). It'll be a good test for Vasilevskiy, who has been one of the NHL's best goalies this season.

  • Lightning's Anthony Cirelli: Goal streak now at five games

Cirelli scored twice and had eight shots Saturday in a 4-2 loss to the Stars.

Both goals were off rebounds from in tight. Cirelli is on a five-game goal streak (six goals, two assists), and he has eight goals and 13 assists in 19 games this season. He has been underestimated since his junior days and proving to all that he's more than a shutdown pivot. Cirelli is almost halfway to his career-high 45 points, which he set last season in 79 games. He has also stepped up his game at the circle this season, and he's on his way to his first 600 faceoff win season.

  • Lightning's Nick Paul: Out Saturday

Paul (undisclosed) isn't expected to play Saturday versus Dallas, per Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com.

Paul will miss his second straight game. He has five goals and 13 points in 17 appearances in 2024-25. Tampa Bay will dress seven defensemen Saturday, including Darren Raddysh, who was a healthy scratch Thursday against Columbus. Paul's next chance to play will come Monday versus the Avalanche.

  • Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Slated to start Saturday

Vasilevskiy was the first goaltender off the ice at the morning skate, indicating he will get the home start versus Dallas on Saturday, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports.

Vasilevskiy will vie for his fourth straight win and continue his recent dominance. The Russian netminder has allowed only four goals in his last four games while stopping 99 shots. Vasilevskiy is 9-5-1 with a 2.13 GAA and a .919 save percentage this season. The Stars sit third in the Central Division with a 12-6-0 record.

  • Lightning's Gage Goncalves: Earns first career point

Goncalves notched a power-play assist, three hits and a minus-2 rating in Thursday's 7-6 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.

Nine of the Lightning's 12 forwards got on the scoresheet, including Goncalves, who earned his first career point, an assist on Conor Geekie's game-tying goal in the third period. Goncalves has moved between the NHL and AHL Syracuse with frequency lately as the Lightning partake in some cap gymnastics. He could stick around to fill in for Nick Paul (undisclosed) for a bit, but it's unclear if Goncalves has done enough to be a lineup regular moving forward. He has four shots on net, eight hits, two PIM and a minus-2 rating through six contests in 2024-25.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Nets power-play goal Thursday

Point scored a power-play goal, blocked two shots and went minus-3 in Thursday's 7-6 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.

Point got the fun started at 1:51 of the first period to lead off a three-goal frame for the Lightning. The 28-year-old has three goals over two contests since he returned from a lower-body injury. He looks fine and should continue to see top-six minutes, though he was limited to 15:42 of ice time Thursday after playing 23:43 in his return Tuesday. Overall, Point has 11 goals (six on the power play), five assists, 27 shots on net and a plus-8 rating through 14 appearances this season.

  • Lightning's Anthony Cirelli: Four-game goal streak

Cirelli had a goal and an assist in a 7-6 overtime loss to Columbus on Thursday.

Cirelli is on a four-game goal streak (four goals), and he has six points in this run. He's having the season of his life this year. Cirelli has 19 points overall, including 13 assists, in 18 games, which puts him in a two-way tie with Brandon Hagel for second overall on the Lightning. And his 154 face-off wins (54.2 percent) lead the team by a wide margin. Cirelli has even been discussed for Team Canada for the 4 Nations Cup coming up in February. Keep deploying him until his pace slows.

  • Lightning's Conor Geekie: First two-point game in NHL

Geekie had a goal and an assist in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets on Thursday.

It was the first two-point NHL game of his young career. Geekie found twine on the power play mid-way through the third to knot the game 6-6. He has points in back-to-back games (one goal, two assists). Geekie has six points, including three goals, 23 shots, 23 hits, eight blocks, one power-play goal and one game-winning goal in 18 games thus far. His fantasy value is limited, but this rookie will become a consistent top-six forward in future years.

  • Lightning's Brandon Hagel: Better than point-per-game pace

Hagel had a goal and an assist in a 7-6 overtime loss to Columbus on Thursday.

Hagel's goal came early in the first period to push the Bolts up 2-0. It was a sharp one-timer off a sweet touch pass from Nikita Kucherov. Hagel has put up 47 shots, a tally that projects to the kind of volume that he had last year when he scored 26 goals and had 75 points (82 games). This season, he has 19 points (nine goals, 10 assists) in 18 games. Hagel needs just one goal to score his 100th of the season.

  • Lightning's Cam Atkinson: First goal of season

Atkinson scored his first goal of the season in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets on Thursday.

He redirected a Victor Hedman shot past Elvis Merzlikins to put the Bolts up 3-0 at 11:52 of the first period. Atkinson had put up an assist against Vegas on Oct. 17, but hadn't contributed any scoring until Thursday. Overall, he has seen ice in just 12 games, and with a goal and assist overall, Atkinson is best left on the wire.

  • Lightning's Mitchell Chaffee: Two points for hard-working winger

Chaffee had a goal and an assist in a 7-6 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets on Thursday.

The third-line winger has five goals, three assists, 21 hits, 16 shots and eight blocks in 18 games this season. Chaffee is a hard-working winger, but doesn't really offer much fantasy value, even with a role on the second power-play unit. The points were Chaffee's first in six games, and he hasn't picked up any points with the man advantage.

  • Lightning's Nikita Kucherov: Hits 900 career NHL points

Kucherov had three assists in Thursday's 7-6 overtime loss to Columbus.

Kucherov surpassed 900 NHL points (902; 331 goals, 571 assists) in just 743 games. He's the fourth-fastest player born outside North America and 23rd fastest ever to get to 900 points. Kucherov also took a nasty slash on the hand in the first period. He dropped his stick in visible pain. Fingers crossed there's no lingering issue when he wakes up Friday. That hand will be sore and could affect shooting

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Can't shake bad smell from game

Johansson made 36 saves in a 7-6 overtime loss to Columbus on Thursday.

Johansson's teammates gave him a three-goal lead by the 11:52 mark of the first period, but he and his mates could not stop the Blue Jackets, who were relentless. Johansson is 1-1-1 in three starts this season, but his 5.22 GAA and .856 save percentage guarantees two things -- a spot on the fantasy waiver wire for him and a heavy workload for Andrei Vasilevskiy.

  • Lightning's Jonas Johansson: Starting in Columbus

Johansson will patrol the road crease in Thursday's game versus the Blue Jackets, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports.

Johansson will start for the first time since Nov. 3, when he allowed five goals on 32 shots against the Jets. All of the 29-year-old's appearances so far have come on the road, and that will continue Thursday. He's facing a Columbus team that has scored 3.22 goals per game despite a 7-9-2 record.
