Dodgers' Giovanny Gallegos: Latches on with champs
Gallegos signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Saturday that includes an invitation to spring training, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Gallegos' performance took a nosedive in 2024, as he posted a 6.53 ERA and 1.65 WHIP over 20.2 innings before the Cardinals waived him at the end of July. He finished up the regular season in the Twins' farm system and will now look to turn things around with the Dodgers, who've developed a reputation for reviving veteran pitchers' careers.

Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Avoids arbitration with Dodgers
Gonsolin agreed to a one-year, $5.4 million contract with the Dodgers on Friday to avoid arbitration, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Gonsolin missed the entire 2024 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in August of 2023. He managed to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City in September, and across three outings he allowed two earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out 12 over 7.2 innings. The 30-year-old right-hander should be available for the start of spring training.

Dodgers' Dustin May: Avoids arbitration
The Dodgers and May (elbow, throat) avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year, $2.135 million contract, the Associated Press reports.
May -- who had been arbitration-eligible for the final time -- missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from UCL and flexor surgery and later had another operation to repair an esophageal tear. The 27-year-old made a total of just 20 starts from 2021-23 due to injury. May should be healthy for the start of spring training, but it's not clear when he might be ready to make starts for the Dodgers given how much time he's missed.

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Captures third MVP award
Ohtani was unanimously named the National League's 2024 Most Value Player on Thursday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
In the first year of his record-setting contract with the Dodgers, Ohtani won his first MVP in the National League unanimously. Having won two MVPs with the Angels prior, the superstar has now won an MVP in three of the last four seasons. He did so without throwing a pitch for the entirety of the 2024 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery and became the first designated hitter to win the award. The 30-year-old produced the first ever 50-50 season in MLB history, and he fell just four points shy of a Triple Crown with a .310 average. While speaking with the media Thursday, Ohtani noted that his goal is to be cleared to pitch by Opening Day, but that both he and the Dodgers will take things cautiously as he recovers from the shoulder surgery he underwent after the World Series to repair a torn labrum, per Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register.

Dodgers' Jack Dreyer: Shielded from Rule 5 Draft
The Dodgers added Dreyer to the 40-man roster Tuesday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Dreyer appeared in 37 games with Triple-A Oklahoma in 2024, producing a 2.74 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 52 strikeouts over 42.2 innings. The left-hander is just one step short of being a major-leaguer and he'll have a chance to prove himself with Los Angeles this spring in an attempt to crack the Opening Day roster.

Dodgers' Justin Jarvis: Inks minor-league deal
Jarvis agreed to a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Sunday, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.
The right-hander was dealt from the Brewers to the Mets at the 2023 trade deadline and split the 2024 campaign between the Double-A and Triple-A levels. Jarvis had a 2.90 ERA in 10 outings at Double-A but struggled to a 6.04 ERA at Triple-A.

Dodgers' Joe Jacques: Inks minors deal with LAD
Jacques signed a minor-league contract with the Dodgers on Saturday that includes an invitation to spring training, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Jacques spent most of his time in the minors last season, turning in a 5.40 ERA and 1.58 WHIP across 41.2 innings between the Red Sox's and Diamondbacks' Triple-A affiliates. Given the 29-year-old lefty's subpar performance and the Dodgers' existing pitching depth, chances are Jacques spends the majority of the year at Triple-A Oklahoma City in 2025.

Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Undergoes shoulder surgery
Graterol underwent right shoulder labrum surgery Thursday.
The Dodgers expect the reliever to miss the first half of the 2025 season but be back sometime after the All-Star break. Graterol made just seven appearances during the regular season due to a nagging shoulder issue, although he did return to pitch in the World Series. The 26-year-old will be in his third of four arbitration years this offseason.
